Location. The Grand Hotel Tritone, in Praiano, Italy overlooks the Amalfi coast. The hotel is ten kilometers south from the town of Amalfi and four kilometers north is the town of Positano. Naples Airport is 55 kilometers away from the hotel.

Hotel Features. Built in the 1950s, the family owned-and-operated Grand Hotel Tritone is a villa-style structure built into a cliff overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Hotel amenities include safe-deposit boxes and wireless Internet access for a fee. A private beach is accessible by lift.

Complimentary buffet breakfasts are served each morning. La Cala delle Lampare offers fresh fish, views of the sea and a dining terrace on the top of a cliff. The wine cellar is set deep into the cliff and is stocked with regional vintage wines. The hotel offers a pool with a terrace and bar.

Guestrooms. The 12-story Grand Hotel Tritone's 60 guestrooms are accessible by lift. All of the guestrooms are decorated with dark wood furniture against bright, white walls with shades of blues in the drapes and bedspreads. All guestrooms include minibars and wireless Internet connections.

Expert Tip. In Amalfi, the Emerald Cave ("Grotta dello Smeraldo") is a marine cave whose luminous green waters were discovered by a local fisherman in 1932. This dark stalactite-filled grotto offers a magical contrast with the emerald waters below. During the Christmas season, local scuba divers have the tradition of placing a white ceramic Nativity set along the cave's floor.
