Location. Hotel Sax is located in the centre of the city of Prague, Czech Republic, 200 metres from Prague Castle and 1.5 kilometres from Wenceslas Square.
Hotel Features. This four-storey boutique hotel is set in a period building with retro interior decor from the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. Spa services include a spa tub, a sauna, and massage treatments, and fitness equipment is available. Multilingual staff at the 24-hour front desk can offer currency exchange, concierge services, and tour assistance. The public areas have complimentary wireless Internet access and there is a DVD library with up to 200 films in stock. Buffet breakfast and afternoon tea are both complimentary.

Guestrooms. The 22 guestrooms have authentic retro decor and furnishings from the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. All are equipped with satellite television with DVD players, and complimentary wireless Internet access. Other standard amenities include safes, minibars, and climate control. Designer toiletries, bathrobes, slippers, and hair dryers are all provided.

Expert Tip. Prague Castle, 200 metres from the hotel, can trace its origins to the end of the ninth century; today, it is the ultimate symbol of the Czech Republic's long struggle for independence.

From Prague Ruzyne Airport (PRG):
Distance to Hotel Sax is 12 kilometres, approximately 20 minutes' drive.

Getting there. Registered taxis wait outside the Arrivals' hall and cost about 700 to 1,000 CZK to the city centre. Minibuses depart from outside the Arrivals' hall and run to Namesti Republiky square, in the city centre. The single fare is 90 CZK per person. Bus numbers 119 and 254 run to Dejvicka, the airport's closest metro station. The journey takes about 20 to 30 minutes, and single tickets cost 20 CZK (1 EUR). Prices are all subject to change.

Getting around. Prague's historic centre is compact and easy to explore on foot, as many roads are pedestrianised. There is an efficient and inexpensive public transport system, including trams, buses, metro, and a funicular railway. Malostranska metro station is one kilometre from the hotel. Tickets are available from tobacconists, stations, and many hotel reception desks, and can be used on all modes of transport. Five of the major metro stations have information offices, with schedules, maps, and directions.
