There's a large greenhouse with nearly 350 exotic plants and a collection of aromatic sea lily ponds, as well as an aquarium complete with piranhas, Humboldt penguins and storks. Tea and meditation are on offer at the Chinese Teahouse, and in warmer weather, yellow gondolas can be taken out on the lake.

Getting there. Lufthansa run an airport shuttle service from Frankfurt to Mannheim. A taxi from the airport costs 100 EUR. Prices are subject to change.
Getting around. Mannheim train station is 3.5 kilometres from the hotel, and there is a tram stop that accesses Mannheim city directly outside the hotel. There is an effective public bus service that runs across the city.
Driving directions. From Frankfurt airport take the A5, direction Darmstadt. Exit Mannheim Mitte and the A656 for zentrum. The Park Inn Mannheim is next to ADAC.
